Thermo King
The Thermo King company wants every piece of equipment it has out on the road, anywhere in the world, to keep the merchandise it's cooling at the optimum temperature.
Everyone I've met from the Thermo-King organization has been very knowledgeable about the equipment, and totally committed to getting their customers' equipment running and keeping it running efficiently.
If you're considering purchasing Thermo King equipment, it would be a good idea to find out if there's someone in your area who's trained to work on it, and if they have manuals on hand for the equipment you're buying.
If not, get the service and parts manuals for the machinery and controls when you buy the equipment, so whoever works on it will have the information they'll need.
If you already own Thermo King equipment, and are in an area where there's no service available and need to work on it yourself, or if you're a technician getting ready to work on some equipment you don't have any information about, visit their site at
www.Thermoking.com.
I highly recommend using their troubleshooting guides.
They have a specific procedure for troubleshooting the refrigeration system step by step to identify problems, and it works.
If you contact them with questions about problems, they'll go through this procedure step by step, and if you haven't done it, they'll tell you to do it and get back to them with the results.
Do it. It will lead you to the problem component, and save you time and money.
They also have step by step procedures for troubleshooting their controls.
These also work, and will save you time, money, and frustration.
If you give them the exact model and serial numbers of the machinery and controls, my experience has been that they will provide the service and parts manuals you need to get the equipment running.
There is a schedule for maintenance of the equipment, and it should be followed to keep the equipment running efficiently.
There are start-up procedures and operational guidelines for the equipment, and these should also be followed; to keep the equipment running efficiently, and to keep the merchandise at the optimum temperature.
If your trucks will be running on roads that will have deep standing water during rainy and monsoon seasons, make sure major electrical components and controls aren't located where they'll get flooded.
Thermo King provides good weather protection for all of its components, but submerging your equipment under water will cause problems.
Finally, it would be a good idea to contact Thermo King directly for their recommendation on the best equipment for your specific purpose.
